Entelechy and the limbic brain
In his book “Start With Why“, author Simon Sinek reminds us that “the part of the brain that controls our feelings has no capacity for language”. He goes on to suggest it is this disconnection that makes putting our feelings into words so hard. We have trouble, for example, explaining why we love someone the way we do. It is really hard to put into words that it is just how our loved ones make us FEEL. That’s the problem with love; we only know when we’ve found it because it “just feels right.”Could it be the same with our entelechy? When we are living a life with the freedom for our entelechy to unfold “it just feels right.”
The emotion of love is difficult to express in words so we use tools to stimulate our senses, in turn stimulating the limbic system – a floral perfume, a silken nightdress, a carefully chosen piece of music, an aromatic meal. In the same way can we release our entelechy with exploration of the senses?
My current fascination is the power of music and its role in the realisation of our potential.
Why does music make us FEEL inspired, joyful, melancholy, relaxed.
So many questions!!!
